Dr. Addy has devoted a large portion of her life to higher education. Her academic background is rooted in the study of English with a Ph.D. in Higher Ed. Administration with a focus on Community College Leadership. She achieved this accomplishment from The University of Texas. Dr. Addy recently concluded a term as Interim President of NHTI and brings forth many years of experience as a community college president. Dr. Addy served as President of Tunxis Community College in Farmington, CT from 1993 until her retirement in 2017. Prior to becoming President of Tunxis, Dr. Addy served as the President of Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, MA, Academic Dean at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, founding Campus Director of the North Campus of Williamsport Area Community College in Pennsylvania, Dean of Student Services at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, Wyoming, and as an English teacher at Auburn Community College in Auburn, New York. Dr. Addy has received numerous accolades such as the “Chamber of Commerce Leadership Award” as well as the “Educator of the Year Award” courtesy of the Bristol Sports Hall of Fame. She also has articles published in the “Journal of Community College Research” and the “Journal of the New England Board of Higher Education” among other publications.
