I am saving roughly 1/3 of the tuition cost from my prior university. After housing costs and flights, I am spending 1/5 of what I was spending last year.

Great Bay Freshman nursing student Katie Cilley received a $1,000 scholarship from the Emerson and Ruth McCourt Charitable Trust. She states, "I am ecstatic about this because it feels so good to know I received this award for having 'an above average GPA' in the nursing program!"

She also has done community service that she thinks others may be interested in doing. Katie gathered clothes and donated them to her current clinical site at Hampstead Hospital, a behavioral health treatment center, with the approval of the staff and her clinical instructor. Students could call this facility and ask if they need donated clothes, shoes, and winter jackets. She has found that winter jackets and adult clothing are especially in need.

Thank you Katie for your community service, and congratulations on your scholarship, we are excited to see how you grow through the nursing program!
