For all civic-minded community members, as well as those working in supervisory positions within either a nonprofit or for profit organization. The focus of this course is on areas of communication and change within communities large and small.
Students will:
Develop a deeper understanding of what dialogue means, as well as an ability to practice it as both a listener and facilitator
Recognize the differences between active and passive listening, with the intention of improving active listening as an essential component of dialogue
Identify some of the most significant elements of change within communities – how and why change happens and how and why conflict typically accompanies it
