Pathophysiology is the branch of medicine which deals with any disturbances of body functions, caused by disease or the onset of symptoms. This is a one semester course that introduces the structure and function of the human body to the Allied Health student. It includes the anatomy and physiology of each of the organ systems of the human body and practical discussion of disease and health. Students will discuss and identify diseased tissue, the various mechanisms by which human disease develops, and the common disorders involving each of the major body systems.
