To best serve the varied student populations that we serve, the College will be hosting a series of informational events this upcoming month. Each will cater to the variety of interests, motivations, career goals and needs among those considering starting or completing their degree, a career change or training for career advancement.

Different Goals, Different Events: GBCC Hosts Series of Tailored Info Sessions this January

Events designed for students of all ages, motivations considering, or ready to attend Great Bay.

Great Bay Community College will offer a variety of events in January to highlight the breadth of its academic programming, the flexible courses that fit a range of budgets and schedules, and the practical pathways students can follow to meet their individual academic goals and career aspirations.

Great Bay serves students of all backgrounds, motivations, and needs, and the January events will provide timely information for all prospective students. Sessions are scheduled for those who are ready to enroll for January classes, as well as those who are still considering their options for a degree or a new career.

Express Admissions Day

Students who are ready to enroll this spring should consider attending the Express Admissions Day on Tuesday, Jan. 6, with on-the-spot admission, advising, and registration available in a single day. This event is designed for prospective students in any phase of the application process, whether they have yet to apply for admission, are already accepted and need placement assessment, or are seeking information about advising and registration. The goal is for students to leave this event registered for spring classes, which begin Jan. 20. For those who wish to file for federal financial aid, Granite Edvance will hold a FAFSA Open House from noon to 4 p.m.

Open House

Two days later on Thursday, Jan. 8, Great Bay will host an Open House for students who are considering their college options. The Great Bay Open House is an ideal way for high school juniors, seniors, or anyone considering enrolling for the Spring or Fall semesters to learn about the range of programs, financial aid options, transfer opportunities, student support services, and Student Life activities, and to tour the campus.

Faculty and staff representing the college’s 50 academic programs will be available to answer questions. For students interested in learning about becoming a Medical Assistant, LNA, or Phlebotomist, in-person information sessions are scheduled for 4:15 and 5 p.m.

The open house also is a good time for current college students who are considering transferring to Great Bay to meet with advisors to talk about the process. They can also learn how their college credits and professional experience will transfer to Great Bay using the College’s new Transfer Equivalency System (TES).

Adult Learner Information Sessions

And finally, for adult learners who want to complete a certificate or degree or are considering a career change or training to advance skills, Great Bay is hosting Adult Learner Information Sessions on Jan. 15 and Feb. 12.

Spring classes start January 20, Feb 17, and March 23. More information is available here.
