Credit for Prior Learning & Transferability
GBCC helps students evaluate how previously earned credit (e.g., college courses, professional certifications, military training) may count toward your degree and transfer goals. Tools like the Transfer Equivalency System (TES) allow you to estimate how credits may apply before transferring.
FAQS
As early as possible – ideally in your first or second semester – so you can select courses that transfer efficiently.
Many courses transfer, especially those tied to articulation agreements. A transfer advisor can help you evaluate your courses.
You can transfer early, but competing an associate degree means you already have a credential set, may increase your chance of admission, and may reduce the time needed at the four-year institution.
