This course is a continuation of University Physics I, investigating the fundamental properties of solids, liquids, simple harmonic motion, mechanical waves, energy transfer, electromagnetic waves, field theory, heat, temperature, temperature effects on solids and fluids, heat transfer, geometric optics, and electricity. Special emphasis is placed on problem-solving skills, developing solutions based on the application of integration, polar coordinates and series to the solution of realistic problems. Dimensional (unit) analysis and critical thinking are stressed. Prerequisite: Grade of āCā or better in PHYS290G. Spring semester
