Concord, NH – Eligible students can receive grants to meet tuition and fees at NH’s community colleges for the Fall semester, thanks to funding announced by Gov. Chris Sununu on July 16.

In order to be eligible, students must show a financial impact related to COVID-19, such as a reduction in household income or increased expenses not otherwise offset. Funding will be available for current and new students. The Community College System of NH (CCSNH) is creating a simple form that current and prospective students can use to demonstrate eligibility. The form will be accessible at www.ccsnh.edu/Fall and on the individual community college websites. CCSNH expects to have the tuition assistance application form available the week of July 20.

Students at NH community colleges enroll in associate degree and certificate programs as well as short-term certification programs and courses designed to upskill graduates for professional advancement. Tuition assistance is available for credit and non-credit offerings.

“New Hampshire’s Community Colleges prepare students for in-demand careers and offer a local, convenient and high-quality foundation for continued postsecondary education,” said CCSNH Interim Chancellor Susan Huard. “I encourage New Hampshire residents to take advantage of the exceptional opportunities right in their communities. This funding is designed to ensure students do not lose their momentum as they or their households may be impacted by COVID-19. This is an ideal time to learn close to home at community colleges that are highly attuned to community needs.”

A listing of programs can be found at https://www.ccsnh.edu/admissions/academic-programs-at-a-glance/. Non-credit programs are listed on each college’s website.

While CCSNH finalizes the tuition assistance application, students/prospective students can:

  1. Complete a FAFSA if they have not done so already.
  2. Prepare documentation that demonstrates financial hardship due to COVID, such as a reduction in income or an increase in household expenses. (Additional guidance will be forthcoming.)
  3. If not already registered, explore programs and courses on the college websites, accessible from https://www.ccsnh.edu/.
