This course serves as an introduction to digital photographic processes, in which technical aspects of cameras and equipment are reviewed. Basic photographic principles such as using aperture and shutter speed to control exposure, metering, depth of field, lenses, and flashes are explained, through which students can gain an understanding of compositional techniques used to create professional-quality exposed photographs. This course also focuses on the history of photography and reviews techniques utilized by photographic masters. The student must supply his/her own digital SLR camera. Prerequisite: DGMT115G.
